Computer parts compatibility?

Hello, thanks for stopping by.

This is my first time building a PC purely for video editing. 'senseijtitus' recommend me the following parts (http/www.tomsguide.com/answers/id-2663272/amd-6600k-intel-2350m-video-editing.html) . However, I am not sure if they are compatible with each other (e.g graphic card doesn't fit on motherboard etc.)

As well as this, can you please give advice on assembling the parts together. I am going to try and build this by following a YouTube tutorial.

Wanting a video editing rig, you'll need a good motherboard based on 970/990 chipset (your CPU will spend much of its computing time at 100% throttle) and a decent CPU cooler. My recommendations:

As I was saying, in video editing the CPU will bear the computing burden, so at 100% usage for prolonged periods of time the CPU and motherboard temperature will rise and cause thermal throttling (the stock AMD cooler can be used if the ambient temperature is fairly low, under 20C, and the enclosure allows very good airflow, which is not the case). If you don't want to go for a decent motherboard, at least go for the CPU cooler to minimize the influence of the temperature.

You don't need a GTX750Ti, unless your editing software of choice has CUDA support or you also want to game a little; be aware that the best image quality is still obtained by pure software rendering (CPU only).

Another option is to use Intel's QuickSync technology, which is very fast (the integrated HD4600 from an i5 is equally fast to a GTX970 when rendering) and the resulting quality is closest to pure CPU rendering (CUDA and Quick Stream still lags in image quality). Also, with an i5-4460 you will not need an additional GPU and you'll have a faster system than with FX-6300.

If your old PC has DDR3 memory, you can use in your new system; some early DDR3 models may need a voltage bump, as they used 1,65 Volts compared with the standard 1,5 Volts.

I wanted to point out the proper orientation because TX3 can also be mounted in horizontal position, which for your system will have no benefits.

Your original selection is as good as it gets considering your budget. I would go for this RAM kit instead:

Actually you will need to take out the heatsink also: dismantle the stock AMD heatsink+fan from the motherboard, clean the CPU cap (heatspreader; use an alcohol-based wet wipe), apply some thermal compound (the new cooler will be shipped with a syringe containing the needed compound), not too much though (use the pea-sized method, check youtube for TIM Application), mount the fan onto the heatsink (check the mounting instructions from the TX3 manual) and mout the new heatsink+fan onto the motherboard (check the mounting instructions, be sure you'll mount it in the configuration pictured above).

Hyper 103 is a fairly new addition in CoolerMaster portfolio and is on par with Hyper TX3 as the performance goes (and got the looks too), but TX3 can accomodate a second fan to further decrease the CPU temperature.
