Connect Bose thru older stereo to new Sony Bravia

Trying to hook up the sound system to the new tv. The stereo system is so old we have the Bose speakers playing thru the headphone jack. We can hear the DirectTV thru the speakers just fine BUT can't hear Netflix thru the speakers. The TV model number is KDL-55W800C/50W800C
I couldn't tell you the stereo model to save my life but the Bose are pretty new.

Hi! Please help me! What did you do? I have a new Sony tv but my Bose lifestyle is so old..
