connect DISH to laptop?

My TV broke. Can I connect the HDMI cable from my DISH satellite receiver box to my laptop to watch TV until I fix TV or buy a new one? Laptop is HP Envy and has an HDMI slot.

No. That's an HDMI output not input. Connecting two output devices together is like plugging an extension from the wall to the wall.
