I have an analog TV with a digital TV tuner/converter box; a DVD player; and a Leaf antenna connected to the converter box. I would like to record OTA programs for replay later.

Is it possible to connect a ChannelMaster DVR+ (the one with the built-in storage) and how, specifically, would I do this, given the connection panels below? (Note that the ChannelMaster FAQ states "The DVR+ TV connection is HDMI only, the unit does not function as a converter box and is not compatible with older analog televisions.") Also, I'd like to be able to continue to use the DVD player.

I'm not a tech expert, but I can follow specific directions :)

Toshiba analog TV 27A42

Zenith Digital TV Tuner Converter box DTT901

Toshiba DVD Player SD-K740SU

Thank you.

The Channel Master DVR is a fine product but it would require you to convert the HDMI to component or composite video at additional expense. Something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Viewtv-Converter-Recording-Function-Composite/dp/B00GGVPKKC/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1423592024&sr=1-3-fkmr0&keywords=over+the+air+dvr+with+sd+out
while not as well made would be a lot less expensive and since the converter and PVR are combined easier to use. Since your TV has 2 inputs the other would be for the DVD.
When you upgrade to an HDTV you can then use the HDMI output.

Thanks for the information, americanaudiophile. I checked out the Viewtv unit - you're right about the price, although some of the reviews are giving me pause. It looks like I would need to get a usb power converter and a usb drive too. If I wanted to record one channel while watching another channel, would a splitter for the Leaf antenna work, or is that beyond the capabilities of the Viewtv unit?
