Solved! connect panasonic tv to bose station using optical cable

I have connected my bose sound station to my tv using an optical cable but i still get no sound from bose. When I go into the tv menu and under audio I turned off the tv speaker but and still no sound. Please help!

You may have to turn the optical output on and change the audio type to PCM stereo in the TV audio menu.
