Connect PC to home theater and non HDMI display

I have Intel DH67CL motherboard. and ASUS GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card (with one HDMI port). I have LG E2041 Monitor (with no HDMI port on it).
I am planning to buy sony bdv-e3200 or sony HT-IV300 home theater. I want my display on my LG monitor and sound from my Sony home theater. So is it possible?
I am thinking of connecting ASUS HDMI cable to Sony Home theater and ASUS DVI-D cable to my monitor. Will it work?

Yes -- plug them both in, and in your control panel change the default audio device to the HDMI output. Sometimes you may need to disable other audio devices to force it.
