Since the optical audio out is fixed that won't give you a way to control the volume. It may not provide enough volume as well since it has line level out which is less than a headphone jack.
The spec sheet for your TV shows it has analog audio outputs on the back but the manual doesn't show any. If it has analog outputs you need a headphone amp to connect there to drive the headphones and control the volume.
If it doesn't then you need a DAC headphone amp with optical input.
