Hello.

I have a SONY soundbar HT-RT3 that I wish to get true 5.1 channel sound out of.
It can only be connected via AUX or Optical or HDMI ARC or Bluetooth.
My computers motherboard is MSI Z370 Gaming Plus with Realtek® ALC892 Codec and has only analog 3.5mm audio jacks.
I have a TV Manta 49LUA58L (i know) that has neither optical nor HDMI ARC connections (as far as I know).
The only device in my home that has an optical input is a Playstation 3.

Question is: what is my best option to get 5.1 sound?

Should I buy some sort of a converter?

Or should I buy an additional sound card?
Like Creative Soundblaster Z 5.1 (70eur) or Creative Soundblaster Omni (63eur) or Asus Xonar DGX (37eur)

Ur tittle started with PC -> SB, then u threw in the TV, and playstation.

PC -> SB, what ^he says. The other pieces are whole balls of other waxes.

Dude, you are buying stuff that have LIMITED connections, is gonna be ugly to impossible if your ultimate goal is to hook all these together and able to play SB from all devices. SB honestly is not designed for that. Your ultimate goal, if so desired: ALL SOURCE DEVICES --> AVR --> TV using passive, stand alone spkrs.

I threw in the TV and Playstation simply as options if perhaps some kind of passtrough can be achieved.

My ultimate goal is to hook up this TV to a PC and watch movies in 4K with 5.1 audio.
