Connect Turntable to Pioneer VSX-322

This receiver does not have a Phono input. Am I correct in assuming that I cannot connect a turntable to it.

There are phono pre-amps available for under $20. Phono's have a very small voltage that is heavy in treble and very little bass, so the phone pre-amp balances the bass and treble, the RIAA phono curve, and then boosts it up to the 2v range that is the same as a CD or other audio device. ! You can then connect the phono pre-amp into an aux, tape, CD or even the audio section of a video input.
