Hi there, its my first forum post. I own a Pioneer VSX-425 AVR and I want to hook it up to a Samsung Q70T which unfortunately only has a Digital optical output. I have tried the following based on forums I have read around the internet:
AV to HDMI Converter
https://www.amazon.com/Vilcome-Composite-Converter-Adapter-Supporting/dp/B07C55MD5J/
Coaxial/Toslink to RCA Converter
https://www.amazon.com/AMALINK-Digital-Converter-Optical-Toslink/dp/B083NQSCDF/
The AV to HDMI converter did not work, while the Coaxial/Toslink to RCA showed some promise when it worked for a few minutes until cutting off. When it cut off, my speakers had a cackling sound. For this, I used a Toslink cable from the converter to the TV. I also set the TV's audio to PCM.
Here's the manual that shows the back panel of the AVR:

Thanks.
