Connecting Computer to TV

I can't connect my computer to a TV LED set. It shows a red screen but nothing. Do I have to tap a Fn key?

Which TV and GPU do you have and which cable are you using? Also, what do you mean by "red screen"? Model numbers would be nice.

Can you mention some more details specifically the laptop you connected to TV, Is it connected using a cable or wireless ?
