Connecting Sub woofer help

Hello.

Parents just bought a new TV, LG55SJ850V. Along with a Bose 300 soundbar. We have hooked them up together using an Optical cable (for some reason we aren't getting signal through HDMI ARC connection). Now my parents have this old Yamaha sub-woofer with the red and white RCA audio ( I believe that's what they are), they want to hook that as well. I heard there might be an adapter to do so but not sure which is the correct one. Any help would be appreciated if this is at all possible. If you need any more info. I will gladly provide to the best of my knowledge.

The Bose does have a subwoofer output. It may be labeled acoustimass (for their own sub).
If the Yamaha sub is self powered then you can use it. Mini plug at the Bose end (can't tell if it's mono or stereo) and RCA or RCAs at the other end,
