Solved! Copying camcorder film to p/c

we need to copy pix from cannon camcorder and put them into a movie maker program but the p/c refuses to see canon camcorder. can someone help please?

You can try going to Canon's support section on their website and see if the have a driver for your camcorder you can download and install on your pc. Also, what program are you using to transfer the video?

Are you using a USB cable or Firewire cable to connect the camcorder to your pc? Either one should be fine, but I find Firewire better for transferring video.

Thank you for the info, we found the Firewire cable was the answer. After that it was easy to download.
