I'd really like to see some fact-checking here.

1) Mechanical keyboards (at least those using Cherry MX switches) actuate halfway down the keypress, 2mm from the top, with a 4mm full travel. Membrane keyboards on the other hand, require the user to fully depress the switch.

2) The three types of switches found in the k70 all have similar force requirements, between 45 and 50cn. Membrane boards have a much wider range of force requirements even over the same board, but on average a membrane board actually needs more force to actuate than one of these mechanical switches.
