I have 2 12w Sharp speakers, each with 1 woofer and 1 tweeter, and would like to wire them up to a 3.5mm audio jack and use them as my PC speakers, will this work? ie they would have no power source other than my computer's motherboard's on board sound.

I'm not to experienced in the audio sector, so excuse any lack of info and knowledge etc.

Please help!
Thanks in advance.
Jack.

If the speakers are not powered (and it sounds like they aren't). Then you won't hear anything. You need an amplifier to convert from the 3.5mm line level signal that is output from the PC to the high amperage signal required to drive speakers (two wire).
