Solved! Could an extremely close lightning strike take out a TV display panel?

Could an extremely close lightning strike 20-100' away, destroy the TV flat panel display?

I have a 55" TV that has no standby LED but the power supply does have some output in standby - it does not turn on obviously.

But here is the decision: Should I get a $55 Kit which has all 4 of the circuit boards? If the panel is good, I'll have a great cheap repair.

What are the odds?

Yes, especially if Not Grounded properly. Most idiot cable companies do not ground properly. Check your ground connections. I found mine connected to PVC...
