Ok so what has happened is I installed something a few days ago I accidently clicked the wrong link and something called MPC cleaner installed now I researched a bit about this and someone told me to type this into my command notepad %windir%/system32/Drivers/etc/host

I believe that's to see whos connected to my laptop and about 7 of the same ip came up all with a weird directory like
127.0.0.1 down.baidu2016.com

127.0.0.1 123.sogou.com

127.0.0.1 www.czzsyzgm.com

127.0.0.1 www.czzsyzxl.com

127.0.0.1 union.baidu2019.com

127.0.0.1 down.baidu2016.com

127.0.0.1 123.sogou.com

127.0.0.1 www.czzsyzgm.com

127.0.0.1 www.czzsyzxl.com

127.0.0.1 union.baidu2019.com



now as you can already tell I'm a massive noob with a pc and obviously punctuation but if someone could help me that would be greatly appreciated

best start would be to make sure you have an antivirus that is up to date and download malwarebytes, its free, let it do a full scan and remove anything it finds.

what those entries in the host file suggest is that when you try to go to those sites, it will loop back to your own machine, this could be a service running to handle requests or a way to block sites. either way, running a full scan on your pc with malware bytes and your antivirus scanner should put you back on the squeaky clean path

when I go to do that it says I don't have a system restore enabled I try enabling it but it restores to todays date

it doesn't loop back all it says is page cannot be found

Those entries in your hosts file aren't doing anything wrong, in fact they're stopping your PC from accessing the sites listed.

Basically: baidu.com redirects to 127.0.0.1 which is the localhost address.
Some adblocker or something might have done that.

Best thing for you to do would be a system restore and go back before you installed that software.

thanks to everyone who replied I really really appreciate all your time I installed Malwarebytes and it quarantined 1395 items and now everything is gone and pc is clean

Anything that comes back to your pc without ever leaving your machine is called a loopback, 127.0.0.1 is a loopback address because it points back to your own PC, even if you unplug/disable all network connections from your pc, 127.0.0.1 will ALWAYS ping and respond because it is YOUR pc, the reason why the site doesnt work is because you arent hosting the site. however, it could be that if you have an infection on your pc, that the virus could be running a web service that can further infect your PC or allow access to someone across the internet.
