CPU vs GPU Help!

Well to start off I'm bad at making decisions so thanks in advance for any help.

I have a maximum budget of AUD$2000 and these two laptops fit the bill nicely.
Now my university is stumping up this money so I'm free to upgrade the laptops a little after purchase (i.e add SSD and RAM) with my own money.

SO, the dilemma I'm faced with is this:

Metabox Alpha (2.7kg)
i7 8700 (desktop) cpu
16GB 2666 MHz RAM
512GB SATA SSD
GTX 1060

Or

Metabox Prime/Prime S (2.65kg/1.9kg)
i7 7700hq
8GB 2444 MHz RAM
GTX 1070
No Storage

Both are approximately AUD$2000

However, with the 8750h being released next week it may be appropriate to wait for those. But these models are all on sale at the moment with approximately $250-400 off their 'regular' price. Also it would be best to order in the near future as the university would prefer sooner rather than later.

Again, thanks for any advice, much appreciated.
Oh and also I'd like to play some games on my 4k monitor/tv as well, however it will be mainly on a 1080p screen.

Solution
well if u are looking to play above 1080p(2k-4k) then the 1070 would be a good option.also good for the long run.the 1060 is also not bad especially at 1080p plus u get a desktop coffee lake cpu, rams and storage drive.the 1070 is obviously the faster gpu even if its pair with a i7-7700hq.if it was me and have some spare money for storage and ram i would opt for the 2nd choice.
