Cracked screen and no display

I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 and I dropped it yesterday. The phone screen shattered, the LED light still works and so do the buttons at the bottom. But my screen doesn't work. Would I have to get a new phone? Or can I some how get the display to work again by getting it fixed?
 
Solution
The screen of the Galaxy S3 is an AMOLED screen, so the digiter is firmly attached with the display which is hard to separate. If you display do not work any more, you have to do is to replace the screen assembly either by repair shops or youself:
