Hello,

So we got a new Asus GL553VD DS71 Strix laptop in the beginning of September. The day we got it, we updated its drivers accordingly to the Asus website. It had been working fine up to about 3 weeks ago. Since then, when launched, Battlefield Bad Company 2 opens as a white screen then instantly closes. BF3 loads up to the server page but does the same thing when joining a server (its on browser when searching for a server). Need for Speed opens a dialog box saying I need DirectX 10 or higher installed. The laptop has DirectX 12. Nothing has been changed, it just randomly stopped (worked the night before this all started). No other drivers were installed, and the only updates installed are via Windows (when it automatically updates upon shut down).

Even the ROG Gaming Center opens, then the dialog box immediately shows up saying that it has stopped working.

Anyone have a clue as to what happened or what is causing this?
The laptop is only used for Microsoft Office and the occasional games (installed via CD or Origin), so a virus isn't a possibility (been careful on that).

Solution
If anyone else experiences this;

Resolved: it was a manufacturer issue. The hard drive was faulty and was replaced via an RMA (still under warranty), which would explain the random fixes working temporarily and overall consistency otherwise of not being able to locate a DirectX and files associated with the dedicated GPU.
All other solutions provided by support failed, and when performing their last resort factory reset, it became stuck on a restart loop.

Probably why no one on here knew anything about it.

Edit: The issue seems to be with the dedicated Nvidia GPU. Running above games on the integrated Intel, they open. Very laggy, but that's a given.

We tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers for both graphics cards but it didn't help. We did get a code 43 for the Nvidia and it stopped working, Restarted laptop, was up again but back to its original issue of games closing instantly.

ROG did not open even with the integrated GPU.
