I'm a technician and this has me stumped.
I have an HP G7-2000 that I've been working on for a customer. It came in for a 'no boot' issue. Turned out that it had a bad stick of RAM, a broken dc-in jack and a bad motherboard. The first replacement motherboard I received was also bad, no video. Now, the motherboard I have shows a display when connected to an external monitor. Ok, so that means bad LCD or LCD cable, right? I've replaced the LCD cable, no luck. I've tried multiple screens and I keep seeing the same thing happen (I have confirmed testing with a working LCD). When the laptop powers on, I see a faint 'shift' in the light of the LCD. This happens maybe a couple of times while powered on, but never see text or anything.
This laptop does not have an inverter. WHAT CAN THIS MEAN??
Thoughts???
