Simple but brilliant, right? Why didn't anyone think of that before?

[citation][nom]feeddagoat[/nom]The wii is so cheap but makes all its money back on these accessories. Its the same with other consoles too. Charging kits, special controllers for guitar hero or buzz, travel kits such as protective case for psp or DS, memory cards/HDD, i could go on. Somethings are essential too. The best example is rubber grips and replacement straps for wii controllers since my controllers didn't come with either. It all adds up. Something like this doesn't surprise me tbh. Its clear console makers are using accessories as a big cash cow and while something like this is nice its not essential. The gaming chairs (the ones that are kinda "u" shapped) do a great job already and are of decent quality. Anyone remember the inflatable chairs in the 90's (and earlier) they barely lasted a month with any sort of use.[/citation]

A lot of this is third party stuff that Nintendo doesn't make much if any money off of. Not real sure how these things work, but I doubt Nintendo gets money for each sold, maybe a licensing fee to allow companies to make compatible accessories. They make the money back in games being so overpriced. And to a point with the extra Nintendo/Sony/MSFT branded peripherals, but not this third party stuff.

Yes, your childhood.
Any adult looking at this and thinking "I wouldn't enjoy that", bravo, you aren't meant to. I'm sure kids will love these and get PLENTY of enjoyment out of them, as they have the imaginative powers to pretend a pool toy with a wii jack is Mario Kart come to life. They aren't supposed to be a realistic representation of a race car.

This is also nothing new, if you think this is extravagant, you've never heard of Steel Battalion's controller. Wii just really takes advantage of using peripherals to make the player experience interesting, there's always the option of using the normal controller.
