Customize Your Google+ URL

When you create your Google+ account, your profile is assigned with a unique profile ID which is a combination of random numbers auto-generated by the server. Since the auto-generated numbers assigned to your ID are random, it becomes hard for anyone to memorize the URL of your profile.

Google+ allows you to change the URL of your Google+ profile and give it more user-friendly name.

Once you have used your Google+ account for a while, added a few friends to your circle, and have met all the prerequisites, here is how you can customize the URL for your Google+ profile:

■Log on to your PC.
■Open your favorite web browser.
■Type www.plus.google.com in the address bar and press Enter.
■Provide your login credentials in the appropriate fields and click Sign in.



■On the Home page, hover mouse over the Home menu at the top-left corner.
■From the displayed list, click Profile.



■On the opened Profile window, click Get URL from the top.



Note: Only those users are eligible to customize their Google+ URL who have fulfilled the Google+ Get URL terms & conditions for the purpose. If you are not able to find the Get URL link at the top, this means you are not yet eligible for URL customization. Once you become eligible, you will receive an email from Google informing you that the Get URL link is now available and you can now customize your Google+ profile URL.
■Once the Get a custom URL for your profile interface appears, in the You can change it to field, type the desired word (typically your ID name) that is unique for your profile.
■Check the I agree to the Terms of Services checkbox.
■Once done, click Change URL to get customized Google+ profile URL.



■On the opened Verify your mobile phone number interface, click the drop-down list from the left to select your country, and enter your phone number in the Mobile phone number field.



■Optionally, you can also check the Help people who have your…. checkbox.
■Click Send code in order to receive a verification code to your mobile phone.



■On the next window, type the code in the Enter code box that you have received in step 13 and click Verify.



■Once done, on the opened Confirm custom URL for your profile interface, click Confirm choice to set the custom URL for your Goolge+ profile.
