My toshiba laptop dvd tray oppened, but was blocked. i moved it so it would open all the way. when i placed any cd dvd in it, it dosn't recognize there's one inside. and makes a funny noise.

It may been damaged internally when the tray was obstructed. Only way to confirm that is to fit a known-working DVD drive. Maybe you can borrow one just for testing purposes to avoid buying one until you are sure?

Without realising it;The dvd had something sticky on it..Probably a soda spill. This left the tray itself with a small sticky spot on it. I carefully cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and q-tips,Being careful not to touch anything but the plastic parts and steered clear of the lens and anything electronic. This fixed the problem.I am thankful for your reply.Thank the Lord it was a very simple fix.I hope this will help someone else in the future.
