Well, not entirely true. If you just bought Roku 2 being the only device model then yes. But if you have an older model you can add it and it will carry over to the 2 version. I know because I have the XS version 2 and I already had YouTube as a private channel on my account via the older units. Not sure why Roku prevent this on the 2 series as it clearly works fine on it.

Who says Roku doesn't have a YouTube channel? True, it doesn't have an official YT channel but it does have a private developer channel called VideoBuzz (formerly RateRix) which is a re-branded YT clone channel. It works very well to fill the void of not having the official YT channel.
