Damaged screen on Asus laptop - Help!

Hi - I have a Asus UX303L laptop which I have stupidly closed lid on with earbud earphone on keyboard - next morning star pattern and dead pixels. I have tried in vain to source a replacement screen- eBay seems to be only option. As it is going to cost close to $300 I just want to be sure of the pin configuration. 30 Pin 40 pin ? How can I check what the existing one is without opening it all up. Is there any other way of fixing the screen? Please help me.......

Hi, just to be sure, I must have all the numbers of the model you have, if you have an IPS LED screen you have 30 pins.
And no, you can't repair the screen, the only way is to change it.

but there are a number of pin configurations. its just as easy to take the thing apart and check since hes going to have to anyway to replace the lcd. then he can get the part number and have exactly what he needs

Yes this is true, and a good idea, but with all the numbers, I can help him in his search.
