data connection info please!!!!

if i disable data connection on my lg motion,can i still make/receive calls and send/receive texts?are there any other things on the phone effected by disabling data?i feel dumb asking but have yet to find a result match or answer of any type anywhere ..not even on my service carriers site ......help me please

yes you will. Data connection required for browsing web,reading emails etc.
