My son has an Asus laptop with a 32gb SanDisk SSD as the only storage. Idk what he's done as he tried to fix it himself (he's 14 fairly intelligent however this was obviously too advanced) I had worked on my own PCs with HDDs but not SSDs. And it's been several years so I'm not caught up.
This may have been addressed in another thread however everything I look up is either an old thread that's been closed or has been a cloned HDD. This laptop is the way it came out of the box nothing has been changed or cloned. The sdd shows up in the Bios as storage, but does not boot from this drive. When I put in a USB with Windows set up, no drive shows in which to set up windows on.
My question is what has he done to cause the SSD do not be recognized as a boot drive but is recognized as a storage Drive and how do I install Windows on it. As it is showing as a storage Drive in the Bios, I'm assuming that it's not damaged that it is just a setting. Under SATA mode selection the only option is ahci there is no IDE option. My next question is if it's not a setting could he have deleted the driver or the entire SSD itself?
