Dell hdmi input methods

I recently got a dell XPS 15 (9570), and I'm having some problems with the hdmi input. There's an hdmi port on my computer, so I need help with how to change the screen to the input.

I plugged in the hdmi cable from my ps3. The only problem is, that I have no clue on how to change the screen. Usually, on pc monitors, there are buttons on the side as to where I can change the screen to hdmi 2 or 3 or whatever. I want to know how to do that on my Laptop.

The HDMI port on the laptop is output only.

^ Agree, it's an output, the screen is for local use only.

I really ' know if I'll be able to connect my ps3 to my laptop then. Thanks for answering, could I possibly connect my ps3 and laptop a different way?
