dell latitude e6500 displayport (out) - cable - dvi-d input on monitor

I have a monitor 60hz with 2 inputs DisplayPort and DVI-D.
1 PC is hooked up to the DisplayPort and that works (2800*1400) res

i hook up my latitude e6500 display port out with cable to dvi-d input of monitor (1280*800), then switch source on monitor to dvi-d, all blank.

Any settings to change in bios for dell latitude e6500 ?

Ok, so a laptop restart was need. BIOS does not ouput there directly.
The cable is a DisplayPort DualMode to DVI-D and that works.
