Dell M1210 laptop battery not recharge plugged in

Hello,
I have a Dell M1210 laptop. It will not recharge when my laptop is plugged in. I did check the battery and it is still good. What now?

How did you test the battery? Does your notebook run if you unplug the battery and plug in only the AC adapter?

I two bought two XPS M1210's and gave one to my son. The batter charges fine on his laptop. The laptop runs on only the adapter.
