Hello,
Costco.com's Dell Studio 15 Core i7 8GB / 500GB / 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 Graphics 9 cell battery... or Fry's Electronics Lenovo Ideapad Y550P Core i7 720QM 4GB / 500GB / Nvidia GT240M with 1GB discrete Graphics 6 cell battery...HELP! I can't decide...most everthing else is the same, pretty much the same price. Will one be more reliable than the other, run cooler, last longer, etc.?

Solution
Hello and welcome to the forums :)
The Lenovo model would be better for gaming since GTS 240 performs better than
HD 4570M.
Also 4GB RAM is fine for today's games and apps, i would go for the Lenovo model

What will you be using it for? Are the warranties the same? Do you like one better?

Maziar is probably right, but the difference is minor--so if something else comes up don't hesitate too much.

If you arent doing anything CPU intensive there are cheaper dells with i5s..

i HIGHLY reccomend the lenovo because of the multitouch trackpad and lenovo's renowned keyboard with no flex...they are also quite thin (but ive seen thinner)

8 gb of RAM is quite a lot, in fact more than needed.

i also have heard the speakers are quiet good on the ideapad...

dell, however, has a better mainstream laptop, and better bang for the buck...

i recommend ideapad simply because of its portability and performance.

they also look more modern than the dell....

if u like the design of the macbook then ull probably like the lenovo..

have fun with watever u choose :)
