Dell Vostro 1510 optical drive is not working

Hey my Dell Vostro 1510 Slot Optical Drive doesnt recognize DVDs and CDs. Tried deleting my Upper and Lower filters in the registry but that didn't work. i work in a dusty enviroment and was wondering whether that could be the cause and if it is the cause what can i do to clean the lens in the slot optical drive.

well dusty environment could be the cause, as far as cleaning it, I have not heard of any methods, plus this is a delicate piece of hardware that you'd need to disassemble.

I think it would be cheaper/faster if you just buy a replacement
