I am basically looking for a new laptop for development and designing. I've tried reading other reviews and forums for laptops such as the Dell XPS 13 for some insight but sadly to no avail. Generally the comments and reviews are those about whose handbag it can fit into or other things that really doesn't interest me. Anyway I just want to know the following about the XPS 13 from persons who've bought it. My main preferences include:

Longevity - When I buy a laptop I want it to last quite a while therefore I would like to know if it has been serving its users well thus far or if it has been problematic.

Internal Hardware - I’ve known Dell to have issues with RAM with both laptops and desktops, so if anyone can enlighten me on how hardware such as their processor, RAM, SSD, motherboard have been performing thus far it would be really helpful.

External Hardware – I would also like information about the external USB ports if they are consistent with detecting media or lose connection regularly. Does the charging port falter when detecting the charger because I’ve known someone to have had this issue with dell laptops.

Durability – If it has fallen have any of the internal components been damaged, the screen cracked, or maybe if the entire laptop has become unresponsive.

Performance – How has it reacted to applications using high amount of resources such as Photoshop, Cinema 4D, playing videos, audio and gaming? Also if you are a programmer I would like to know how it has responded to your code’s execution (C++, Java etc.) in their respective IDEs.

Overheating – I am bound to expect this with all laptops but by how much does the battery and other components overheat.

That’s all I want to know. Sorry for the post’s length. Thanks in advance for your responses.
