I've been having a nagging problem ever since I originally bought this laptop.
I bought a Dell XPS L702X last month, and it's been suffering from severe audio distortion and general slow down at random intervals. I've tried using process explorer to isolate what exactly is doing it, but I have the feeling that I don't actually know how to use process explorer. I've tried reinstalling each of my drivers individually, starting with my WLAN driver, and then I even tried disabling the ACPI driver.
However, I'm consistently getting the audio distortion, and though I'd like to avoid a fresh install of 7, I'm afraid that even if I do rollback the OS that it won't fix anything.
Dell's update system isn't helping, either, as it will often recommend drivers that for some reason aren't compatible with my system. So I used the initial disc that came with the laptop to rollback the drivers, and it's still plagued by the same issue. I updated the BIOS through Dell's website, and when it restarted, my computer blue screened because of a power state failure (at least that's what the error said) with a driver, and then proceeded to flash the BIOS.
At this point, I have no idea what to actually do to fix this, but if I have to Google another website with a vague, or poorly written answer, I may have to kill myself.
If there is any sort of diagnostic tool that I need to use to give you guys more information, I'll be glad to.
