When I try to run any executable, they don't run and I see a command prompt window appear for about a second and then nothing happens. Specifically, going to start and run and cmd, I see a command prompt window with the title "c:\windows\desot.exe". I have done numerous virus scans and even a Windows repair, but no change. I can't even run hjt, since it is an executable. Help!

That's an executable related to the malware program Antivirus Pro 2009. Check out this guide for help with removing this.
