I uninstalled the plug in but the stuff is installed still.

Open your IE/Firefox, Right click on Tool bar.
Uncheck ASK SEARCH.

Try Revouninstaller!

Never Install 2 antiviruses in same system! If you wanna have Avira, just Uninstall Norton.
Remove the traces with Norton Removal Tool & After restart Install Avira!

ID the toolbar with HiJackthis (HJT) and remove the entry.

HJT will keep a .reg file to undo the operation just in case.

Remove only what you are sure of, in this case any entry ASK related, as it is a very powerful tool and can cause system inoperability if incorrectly used.

Click on scan and save logfile to create a text document to review. Checkmark and click fix selected to perform the removal.
