What's the difference, if any, between TiVo Series 2 models TCD240080
and TCD24008A?

Ah, I was onto you. Especially because the difference between 80 and
8A is A, not one!

No worries...now, do you know the answer to the original question?
Anyone else know?

Well, putting those models and 'difference' into google gave me
the answer right there, from a couple tivo related forums.
This post, from nob 2004, sums it all up:

You've gone from semi amusing to troll status, go away.

Actually, if you look further on that same page, you'll see that there
are disagreements about that. In fact, my model TCD24008A was bought
brand new and was recently replaced with a refurbished TCD240080. The
reason I asked the question was to determine whether this was a
downgrade or a sideways move.

Even if we ignored everything else, the nym shifting should've given it
away. The odd thing is that despite having professing different
opinions about Tivo, his tone and style is nearly identical to a certain
(fortunately absent lately) poster I will only refer to as S**n.
Coincidence, or is it just that all trolls sound alike?

I'd guess the latter as S**n never bothered or cared enough to
nymshift.

I'm seeing sean use forte agent newsreader, but zardaz uses
outlook express...
Sean seems to have something to do with newsdawg and newsguy,
while zardaz has pointers to teranews and nntpserver.com

Either 2 different people or someone going to the trouble to post
through 2 widely different accounts.

Whack jobs like those two ALWAYS seem to be willing to waste their time
going to that much trouble.
