So what will this mean for current Disney subscribers who DON'T want - and certainly don't want to pay anything more for - ESPN?

Will ESPN just be "jammed down our throats", probably with a price increase, whether we want it or not?

Totally agree. One of the things I hated about basic cable was having to pay for so many channels I never watched. Disney is forgetting why people cord-cut and moved to streaming in the first place.
