Display picture with hmdi cable

Hello I have connected my HMD1 cable to my Lcd TV and to my laptop toshiba. I followed the display settings as stated but I can only view the display settings page on tv . If I switch to Internet page it dose not show. Need help

Can't really make out exactly what is happening here. The TV is connected to the computer and is actually working correct? You see the computer display on it? What happens when you open a program? Does it just open on the laptop screen but not on the TV? To move it to the TV screen you have to drag the program window over to the TV screen.
