Do I buy a pc game in the store and just put it in the disc reader for my laptop

I have a laptop and want to know if I can buy a pc game in the store and put it in the disc reader?

If it's a PC game on a CD/DVD yes. On most the laptop will tell you a disk is in and ask you what you want to do - run it, look at the files , etc. Tellit to run and it will load to your hard drive
