I'm thinking about hooking up a webcam to a laptop for use as a portable
HDTV webcam. Does anyone know if any of the high end webcams are up to the
job?

It all depends on what you feel is acceptable. Overall, I'd say No!..... but
then if your just using it as a "webcam" your going to get "webcam"
quality.... It's as it says "WEBCAM" is to produce rather low
resolution/compressed video for web viewing.

Yes look at the Biscotti TV Phone. It hooks right up via HDMI straight to your TV, it has a pass through so you won't get interrupted during shows and making calls are 100% free.

Free's up your laptop and will get you better quality calls. IMHO it's the best thing next to being there
