alright I got my canon C100 at last. I tested it and I'm more than satisfied. but what about adding an anamorphic lens adapter?
anyway if my camera can record 1920x1080 how can I use it anyway?
as I know anamorphic is for camera that can record 1: 1 video right?
I saw some people with anamorphot in their nikon d5100? and as I know d5100 can't record in 1:1?

Solution

Anamorphic just means you are not shooting 1:1. For example, older HD camcorders actually shot 1440x1080 rather than 1920x1080, and used anamorphic mode to convert 4:3 into 16:9. In this case, you're shrinking 2.35:1 width video to 16:9 (1920x1080). If you mean "Do I need an anamorphic lens to shoot 1920x1080p?" then the answer is no, but if you want cinematic 2.35:1 ratio, you'll need it.
Only real anamorphic shot is to use something like https://www.cinema5d.com/new-slr-magic-anamorphic-lenses-producing-vintage-look/ , which compresses the sides of the image so that 2.35:1 fits in the 16:9 size most sensors use. Most people fake anamorphic shots by simply cropping 16:9 video to 2.35:1

does it mean anamorphic lens will be useless because I'm already recording @ 1920x1080??
