In my home gym, I have a TV that I watch while I work out (just gets basic cable / 60-channels).
Sometimes I bring my laptop down there and connect it to the TV via HDMI so I can watch streaming online content (Youtube / free online episodes of Daily Show, etc.)
But strikes me that this is kind of a big hassle...why should I have to lug my computer down there when it really just serves as a conduit for my wifi + an internet browser.
Wondering if there is some sort of...I don't know, dongle or adapter that I can plug into my TV that will serve as a wi-fi receiver (essentially wifi-enabling my TV), and ALSO includes a basic internet browser, so I can stream free online content?
Conceptually, this doesn't seem like it should be that hard...but I guess a browser requires an operating-system(?), so maybe that's the sticking point?
Bottom line: I want to watch streaming internet video (via my home's wi-fi network) on my TV. Is there an easier way to do it than hooking up my laptop to it?
