Downloading the eBay listings...

Hello everyone. Hey, about a year ago I wrote a batch of scripts that would
automatically log my computer onto eBay and download all the laserdisc
listings. It would then use that information to identify titles and prices
that I was looking for or had an interest in. I don't know how everybody
else does it, but I really hate going through pages of listings and you can
only have so many items on your watch list and then you many times have to
have an item watched in different ways to identify it. (ie: Ralph Bakshi's
Streetfight could also be called Coonskin. So I would have to watch Coonskin
LD, Coonskin Laserdisc, Coonskin laser disc, Streetfight LD, Streetfight
laserdisc, Streetfight laser disc... you get the picture?).

Anyway the scripts worked great and saved me lots of time doing a dreary
task. I had'nt used them in over six months and recently tried them again,
knowing I would have to update them. But, eBay has made it so you cannot
download the listings anymore. When I try it looks like it's downloading
and then an error message pops up saying, "The WebPage could not be saved to
the selected location."

I can still download individual auctions but not the listings.

Can anybody give me any insight into this?

Thanks.

eBay is preparing a commercial offer to access past transactions (ALL past
transactions, from day one) that will typically be sold for:

$10.000/month for private people interest
$25.000/month for business

I guess their interest is in making this download REALLY difficult to get.

They're becoming more and more greedy :(

Rgds,
Julien
