Dropped my laptop and damaged my hdd has it was turnt on at the time got no bck up disc hdd is completely trashed got new hdd how do I go about getting it going again

If the drive is trashed, as seems likely...
You buy a new drive, and do a new install of your OS and everything else.

Completely unknown until you have a working system, and a way to access that drive as a secondary.

And create your own Win 8.1 install USB

Buy and install a new drive.

Sorry about all the posts Just worried that it won’t work again I didn’t have any photos or anything like that on it just used it for day to day things

So that will get it going again

1. You need to create a Win 10 USB. Here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

2. You need to obtain a new drive to go in the laptop.

3. Install the drive.

4. Boot from your WIN 10 USB that you made in Step one, and install the OS.

5. Hope nothing else in the laptop is broken due to the fall.
