I've recently bought a beyerdynamic DT 990 Premium Edition 250 Ohm and have been running them through my motherboard's sound card (Gigabyte GA-Z270X-Gaming K7). I've noticed that the max volume isnt too loud and was thinking about getting a cheapish amp for it bought I really don't know what would be good for my headset. Also would it be worth to get a amp dac like a Syba Sonic USB 24 Bit 96 KHz DAC or a FiiO E10K. Any recommendations for $100 or less would be great!

Solution
250 Ω, you should have avoided that and went with the 35 Ω or 80 Ω model since both can be ran efficiently off low cost DAC/AMP combos or your soundcard. 250 Ω you need a decent output to really push the low end.

As far as low cost go for that pair of Cans.

FiiO Q1 ~$55 "DAC is capable of 384kHz/32bit but the AMP is the weakest of the 3"
FiiO E10K $75 " The loudest of the 3 but the Sound Stage is noticeably weaker"
Schiit Fulla 2 $99 " The best Sounding of the 3 but will not get extremely loud but still enough for most users"

For more you can get a Seperate DAC/AMP stack "Overkill" that will run anything well.

Magi 3 AMP $99

or

Vali 2 $149 "Hybrid Tube Amp"...

and

Modi 3 $99 "DAC"

Two of those are affectionately called a Schiit Stack, you can cut the cost down a bit by going with a B-Stock or subbing in the model 2's for the Magi/Modi.

Tips with adding a DAC or AMP.

1. Disable all enhancements in your audio setting
2. Turn the Source down to 75-80%
3. If using the 3.5mm Jacks, use the rear only.
4. If your DAC/AMP has the option for USB input pick that instead.
5. If your DAC/AMP is powered from a USB use a 1-2 amp phone charger instead.
6. For best sound don't turn your amp off, most have a warm up period of several hours.
