dual monitor geforce635m?

hi guys trying to hook up dual monitors to my laptop. the ports are close together hdmi and vga. fashioned a vga so both fit. however only one of the displays will work at a time? is there a way to run both monitors as an extended display?

Are you trying to use both the laptop screen and the two monitors? Not all laptops can run 3 displays, check your manual.
