DVD player on Acer laptop not working?

I have an Acer laptop and I just put in a DVD. The audio is playing but the screen is black. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this or does anyone know what has happened? Thanks so much.

Install the correct video codecs. What is your windows version?
