DVD player will not read regular DVDs

dvd player will not play regular dvd on Toshiba L75D-A7280. Microsoft Windows 10 Pro version 1703 installed & Microsoft techs remote accessed to try to solve to no end. Suggested I update the BIOS that is from 2013...Also hate that I have a video card with VR but the bios does not support it. Player reads cd, data disks and enhanced dvds with no issues.

did you upgrade from windows 8 to 10? windows 10 don't have buildin media player for dvd.
try vlc player http/www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

Upgraded 10, I have Toshiba video player. DVD player plays cds, data cds and enhanced dvds...just not normal dvds

Maybe the upgrade somehow broke your Toshiba video player. Try VLC media player, or uninstall and reinstall Toshiba video player.

For some odd reason, Microsoft didn't include codecs with Windows 10 or upgrade. You'll need to either reinstall your DVD program, or see if you can get windows codecs online.
